Lunar Intentions: April Moons (Libra full moon + Aries new moon)

April has two big lunar beats for me: a Libra Full Moon (Apr 1) that shows me what’s out of balance, and an Aries New Moon (Apr 17) that dares me to start anyway.

This post is going live on Apr 17 (New Moon day) — which means I’m starting the series a little after April began, but I still want a real read on the whole month. So I’m looking back at the Libra Full Moon that already happened and setting intentions for the rest of April.

This is Lunar Intentions — my monthly moon check-in for how I want to move through the month.

Plain talk: full moons = what’s coming to a head; new moons = what I’m planting next. No prediction theater. Just reflection + practical moves.

April’s moon dates

  • Apr 1 — Full Moon in Libra
  • Apr 17 — New Moon in Aries

Full Moon in Libra (Apr 1): the mirror moment

Libra rules relationships, harmony, and the constant negotiation between me and we. A full moon is a flashlight. It makes the pattern obvious — what’s working, what’s performative, and what’s quietly draining me.

The vibe

Balance, reciprocity, and the difference between “peace” and “I’m keeping the peace.”

What I’m noticing (Libra edition)

  • I can smooth things over so fast I skip the truth
  • I can call something “fine” when it’s actually not sustainable

My Libra full moon questions

  • Where am I over-compromising to keep things pleasant?
  • Where do I want reciprocity, but I’m not asking for it directly?
  • What boundary would make my relationships feel safer, not smaller?

Tiny full moon reset (10 minutes)

  • Finish this sentence: “The pattern I’m done repeating is…”
  • Pick one repair: a conversation, an apology, or a clean exit.
  • Make one practical move that supports balance (schedule it, cancel it, return it, block it).

New Moon in Aries (Apr 17): the ignition

Aries is initiation energy — starting, moving, choosing the first step on purpose. A new moon is a seed moment. It doesn’t ask for perfection; it asks for motion.

If I’ve been waiting to feel fully ready, this is my reminder that readiness usually arrives after I begin.

The vibe

Courage, momentum, and doing the next brave thing in small doses.

Emotional weather (for me)

When the Moon is in Aries, I get faster. Sharper. More impatient. If I’m irritated, I try to treat it like a message:

I probably need movement, a clearer boundary, or a decision I’ve been avoiding.

What I’m planting this cycle

  • One brave start: begin the thing I’ve been circling.
  • One clean boundary: protect time and attention like it matters (because it does).
  • One honest choice: stop outsourcing the decision to “future me.”

My mini plan (Aries-style)

  • 1 thing I will finish: tidy my living space so I feel focused and refreshed
  • 3 repeatable moves for the week: sleeping at night / drinking more water / checking in when I’m at my max
  • The boundary that makes it possible: sit down when I need to. rest.
  • My rule: if I have 10 minutes, I do the next tiny step.

Intentions (copy/paste)

  • I choose courage over perfection.
  • I act on the clearest next step.
  • I trust myself to adjust as I go.
  • I stop waiting for permission.
  • I move with urgency and care.

Tiny new moon start (under 30 minutes)

  • Write down: “What do I want to begin?”
  • Cross out one excuse I’m ready to retire.
  • Pick one next step.
  • Do it.
